Supplements Are NOT Food, they are only there to “supplement” what you don’t have. My list of supplements below are what I have been using long term to promote longevity, sexual, mental and physical health. The most energizing and depression relieving herb I take by far is Kratom
Vitamin D3 is completely nessesary for individuals that live in colder mild climates. I find that taking 5000iu per day has almost eliminated my depressive tendencies. Most people that have depression are very low in D3 and this is backed by numerous ammounts of scientific data.
All of these Supplements aside from a good multivitamin, Omega 3’s and whole foods diet has healed my body in so many ways. You have to optimize your chemistry to have a functional system. Sex Drive or sexual health pertains to this and the bodybuilding lifestyle plays a huge role in determining factors for performance in the bedroom, on camera etc. When someone asks me a sex related question about how they are trying to fix something or they have an issue. I always ask the question: What is the diet like? Are you moving? (not sitting down all day) Is there a form of resistance training in your weekly activities?
Kratom
Ever since I started in the industry I was taking this thing called Kratom. It’s something that really helped me with depression, low energy, and a lack of motivation. I get my kratom specifically from Happy Hippo as they have always been the most consistent in thier sourcing. It helps me with working, it helps me with working out, but most importantly it absolutely eliminated my depressive symptoms that has always plagued me for years. Kratom is a helpful herb but it is also very addicting. I cap myself at 12 grams per day and take breaks, tapers from it to avoid future issues. Being on this for 3+ years now using this method has helped me avoid taking the dose higher in which I would not reccomend. However if you don’t use kratom daily, you will not have tolerance issues. The problem I see with other kratom users is when they take more than 20 grams per day and run into the trap of building too much of a tolerance.
If we can figure out the basics: Nutrition, Training, Sleep, Suppplementation. Then we can start to fix these more complex issues that someone might be having. For me personally, if I don’t have all of the above lifestyle factors met; then nothing in my body works. The term bodybuilding is more of a health and longevity aspect to me, not just for the sake of “building muscle” and pumping iron, but to feel good.
For protien: I prefer to get it mostly from whole foods like steak, beans, whole eggs, salmon. I don’t digest well with chicken or other meats and I dont think they are healthy. I like a good whey protien supplement that does not contain harsh metals in it. Im usually consuming a whey protien supplement around the workout window because that is when I feel the best time to absob it is best for me personally. Every day I get about 200+ grams per day.
Nutrition Is Number 1
